Origin Story
StartupChai began as a side project during my morning chai breaks. I’d read about Indian startups every day, but the coverage always felt fragmented: funding announcements without context or stories that missed the real journey. I started summarizing the day’s startup news for myself, just to stay informed.
Around the same time, my long-time collaborator, who has been my analyst and investing partner for years, joined in. We had already spent countless hours discussing startups, making investments, and debating what really made a company work. Writing together felt natural.
What began as our way of organizing notes and sharing insights slowly turned into something larger, a daily ritual that others wanted to be part of. Friends started reading, then founders, then investors. It has grown into a community that values the same things we do: clarity, context, and conversation about Indian startups without the noise.
